Under the backdrop of building China into a great power in science and technology with globalization, the
internationalization of the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) industry is crucial for enhancing national cultural soft
power and scientific and technological influence. As a cradle of TCM culture, Nanyang boasts high-quality authentic
Chinese herbal medicines and profound cultural heritage of Zhang Zhongjing, holding great significance in the
internationalization of its TCM industry. However, there are several challenges hiding in the process of internationalization,
including inadequate TCM translation, the absence of translation system and terminology standards, lagging in the
commercialization of scientific and technological achievements and digital application, low efficiency of cultural
communication, and loose collaboration among industry, university, research and translation. Taking translation as a bond,
this research explores the current situation of TCM resources and industry in Nanyang. In the meantime, this research
focuses on the pain points of translation, so as to construct a three-dimensional collaborative model of “translation
industry-technology”. It further explore the empowering path of language services, which can effectively enhance the
international competitiveness of its products and foster the high-quality international development of the TCM industry.
